Job Description

Then shape the future of zooplus as a Business Development Associate and help build our marketplace organization from the ground up.

This role offers high impact and visibility, giving you the opportunity to work closely with experienced colleagues and gain exposure to senior stakeholders. You will develop hands-on experience in business development, seller management, and e-commerce.

You will support the identification, recruitment, and development of strategically relevant sellers, contributing directly to the expansion of product selection and the growth of the zooplus marketplace.

With guidance and mentoring from experienced team members, you will take on more ownership and grow into a key contributor within our marketplace organization.

As a Business Development Associate, you will

  • Identify new sellers and assess the relevance of their product portfolio
  • Build and manage a pipeline of sellers to consistently meet/exceed ambitious objectives (#sellers and #SKU)
  • Support onboarding of high-potential sellers
  • Identify market opportunities as well as develop and execute growth strategies together with sellers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive marketplace rollout  
  • Define processes and operations for new markets
  • Drive process optimization and scalability with AI and automation tools
  • Act as a role model and actively promote and protect zooplus' values and purpose

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in German (minimum C1) and English
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field
  • Strong interest in e-commerce, marketplaces, or business development
  • First practical experience through internships, working student roles, or university projects is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn how to build relationships with business partners
  • Structured and organized approach to managing multiple tasks
  • Analytical mindset with a curiosity to understand and solve problems
  • Self-motivated with a hands-on attitude and eagerness to take ownership
  • Familiarity with Excel or data analysis tools
  • Interest in working in an international environment and collaborating across cultures
